Hello from the NAS!

Some tidbits of information we thought you'd be interested in:

Do you, like us, have to refer to the NASH every time you request a change in DNS for your network? You can now use a web form to make DNS changes! You can find this at yhttp://tampico.cso.uiuc.edu/hostreg . Suggestions or comments on how to improve this form are welcome.
CCSO would like to remind you about a service we provide to the campus called "status". When a problem occurs that has widespread effects, such as a network outage, or there is some planned outage which affects a large section of the campus, it is mentioned in status. To access this service, type "status" at a command prompt on any CCSO unix machine, or via the web at yhttp://www.uiuc.edu/cgi-bin/status .
Running a Netware fileserver, and wondering about Netware's VLM drivers? We have a new document in the NASH, called "Upgrading your Network to NetWare's VLM Drivers", which explains why you would want to upgrade, and gives you step-by-step instructions on how to perform the upgrade. You can find this document at http://tampico.cso.uiuc.edu/nas/nash/pc/vlmupgr.html .
