About -- Intermapper

   Intermapper is the central receiving device for probes monitored by the Operations Center. These probes watch the health of various servers, switches, backbone devices, services, environmental monitoring, and much more. Intermapper in conjunction with Message Center allows the OpCenter staff to be notified immediately of network concerns. Through the probes OpCenter can diagnose various network issues, see related dependencies of network devices and services, and see the history of the health of such probes. The history of these probes can often reveal useful information when performing triage. Often CITES or other UIUC Network Administrators will contact the OpCenter requesting information on the health of their network. Intermapper is the first tool OpCenter investigates for such requests.
